MUSIC 003D - Music Theory and Musicianship IV - Units 4
Prerequisites: MUSIC-003C, Music Theory and Musicianship III, with a grade of "C" or better.
This course is the continuation of Music 3C. Emphasis will be on the examination of impressionistic devices, quartal harmony, non-tonal and atonal compositional processes, and 20th century western music. In addition, the course includes ear training and sight-singing of diatonic and chromatic melodies and more advanced four-part rhythmic exercises, advanced melodic, contrapuntal, and four-part chorale style dictation.
