MUSIC 003B - Music Theory and Musicianship II - Units 4
Prerequisites: MUSIC-003A, Music Theory and Musicianship I, with a grade of "C" or better.
This course is the continuation of Music 3A beginning with the construction of an underlying tonal harmonic (triadic) continuum. Emphasis will be on chord connection, employment of triadic inversions, and study of basic harmonic rhythm leading to the creation of two-, three-, and four-part textures. In addition, the course includes ear training and sightsinging of more advanced diatonic melodies, three-part rhythmic exercises, keyboard harmony exercises, self-accompanied singing exercises, melodic, harmonic, contrapuntal, and dictation.(UC, CSU, C-ID MUS 130)
