Developmental EducationThe purpose of Developmental Education is to provide courses that will assist students in mastering the basic skills necessary to continue their education. The instructional program includes basic, developmental and advanced courses in reading, writing, study skills, English as a Second Language (ESL), and mathematics. These courses are supported by laboratory experiences of individualized, self-paced practice. Laboratories are available with materials, media, and tutorial assistance to help students improve their skills. The laboratories include the Content Tutoring Center, the Writing Success Center, the Pathways Center, the Math/Science Learning Center, the English as a Second Language (ESL) Laboratory, and "The Zone." |
